Our division faculty see patients through the Feinberg-affiliated Northwestern Medicine Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, a level IV national referral center for patients with intractable seizures with currently six board certified clinical epileptologists. The clinic receives close to 3,000 visits yearly. The epilepsy monitoring unit (EMU) offers diagnostic and pre-surgical epilepsy evaluations for patients with intractable seizures including invasive explorations using subdural grids and stereotactic depth electrodes (SEEG). The center goal is to provide comprehensive care in a multidisciplinary team which includes highly skilled nursing staff, EEG technologists, neuropsychologists, therapists and social work, as well as epilepsy trained specialists in Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Psychiatry and other areas. The center has a several interdisciplinary clinics, a Women with Epilepsy program, an Epilepsy-Sleep Clinic, and a Tumor-related Epilepsy clinic.
