Neurology Fellowships

The Ken and Ruth Davee Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurological Sciences is committed to recruiting and training fellows to excel in academic medicine. The department consists of 39 faculty members with expertise in a variety of subspecialty areas of neurology who emphasize strong mentorship of fellows and junior faculty members.

Clinical training is provided at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, a new facility with approximately 500 beds and 43,000 admissions per year. The neurology service has about 1,000 admissions per year, of which 650 are stroke patients. The Neurologic Testing Center performs 30,000 neurophysiology procedures per year. The neurology outpatient clinic sees 10,000 patients annually. The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago provides comprehensive outpatient rehabilitative services in a dedicated facility.

Research training occurs in a variety of laboratories equipped to conduct state-of-the-art studies in numerous areas, including molecular genetics, transgenic animals, cancer biology, stem-cell biology, molecular epidemiology, neuropathology, and virology.
