The Ken & Ruth Davee Department of Neurology

Neuro-Oncology

The division of Neuro-Oncology within the Ken and Ruth Davee Department of Neurology's focuses on education, basic and clinical research and the treatment of patients with primary and secondary brain tumors as well as neurologic complications of systemic cancers and their treatments.

Education

The program offers one to two academic events each years as well as patient and caregiver events. There is a weekly multidisciplinary tumor board. Medical Students, residents and fellows can work with clinical faculty on projects related to primary or secondary brain tumors or with laboratory scientists on basic/translational research. A one to two year fellowship exists.

Research

Our program has a very active clinical trial program, one of the busiest in the cancer center, with eight to 12 trials open at any one time for various tumors. View current Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute Clinical Trials.

Patient Care

Patients are seen in the Northwestern Brain Tumor Institute at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Neurosurgery clinics and as inpatients.

We also partner with the Falk Brain Tumor Center at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago to work with pediatric patients.
