Welcome to the Division of Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology website. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders through education, research and care through our affiliated clinical sites.
Our Role in Better Treatments
The clinical care for patients with epilepsy and seizures has fundamentally changed in the last decade through an explosion of new diagnostic tools and treatment options. Epilepsy continues to provide us with a unique insight into the principles of normal and abnormal human brain function. Our faculty works closely with various neuroscientists across the Northwestern campus, from basic researchers interested in electrophysiology, neurotransmitters, ion channels and genetic aspects to clinical researchers studying human neurophysiology and brain function through advanced imaging, EEG signal analysis, or brain stimulation.
Our division is proud to be one of the premier institutions educating the next generation of epilepsy specialist and clinical scientists. Our fellowship attracts some of the brightest people regionally and nationally. Our faculty members are well recognized on a national and international scale as exceptional teachers and mentors.
We would like to welcome you to our division to share our passion to understand and cure epilepsy and our commitment to support patients with seizures to have a better life.
